Clinical Social Worker (MSW) and Psychotherapist
ABOUT ME
Hello,
My name is Nitsan Levison, I am a social worker (MSW) and a counsellor qualified in Israel and registered in both Israel (reg no. 34845) and England (SWE registration number SW141273). I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Foundations of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and am doing further training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in London.
EXPERIENCE
Over the past 13 years, I have worked in various settings in Israel and London, including social services, psychotherapeutic interventions and mental health rehabilitation settings, providing individual psychotherapy and facilitating social and support groups.
My experience includes working with adults, women in particular, who struggle with mental health difficulties such as Depression and long-standing Anxiety or struggle with self-esteem and complex peer or family dynamics, as well as transitions in life such as having a baby, relocation, dealing with a medical diagnosis and loss.
In recent years, I have been studying and working within the psychodynamic approach, which strives to explore underlying desires and anxieties that are present deep within the mind yet influence personality and behaviour.

Individual Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is aimed at developing an understanding of your distress through examining the present situation and exploring various factors, including past experiences, that might be influencing the way you feel. I believe that through therapy we can better understand ourselves and improve our mental health and ability to deal with distress. This understanding can also lead to a greater sense of control over your life and contentment with yourself in general.
I offer short or long-term therapy, psychodynamic in its essence, however, tailored to your needs, maximising the chances that the treatment will provide you with diverse tools to cope with your difficulties and ultimately feel better.
I offer at least two initial consultations, which provide the opportunity to get to know you a little bit and for you to get a sense of how I work and what I can offer you. On-going therapy consists of a weekly session of 50 minutes at a set time.
I offer therapy both in English and Hebrew.
Support groups
In the group work, I aspire to integrate the two worlds from which I draw – the internal world and the interpersonal world, incorporating a social-feminist perspective and believe that in a safe space, people can express themselves authentically, openly, and powerfully, allowing themselves to explore and challenge the underlying currents that affect us in our day-to-day life, often unconsciously.
Groups are held online or face-to-face and consist of a limited number of participants, to allow an intimate space for everyone to express themselves as they wish.
Please contact me for information about upcoming groups.
